Shrubstack has officially entered “Summer Mode”, where we reduced risk and got ready for the Summer…in May! How very European!
I guess it’s a function of having a great year, the market having had a +20% rally off the lows, the macro still dictated by the “tweets” of the US President, and frankly … Summer being round the corner! We need a Meme for this:
Meanwhile, Trump is stuck between a Rock and Hard Place. Or should I say, stuck between a TACO and a BURRITO!
Everyone knows about the “TACO trade” by now: Trump Always Chickens Out.
Unfortunately, a reporter called out Trump this week on TACO. But TACO is like Fight Club: “The first Rule of TACO, is you DON’T talk about TACO”! Thanks to this reporter, the TACO trade could well be over, as Trump wants to show the World that he doesn’t chicken out…
…which could throw the Market into the “BURRITO trade”!
The BURRITO trade is when Trump Backs Up Rapidly, Regrets It, Then Overreacts! (h/t Marc!).
If Trump doesn’t want to give out TACOs anymore, he could end up serving us a BURRITO…
…which would explain Trump’s rant on Friday that China violated the non-existent Trade Deal already! At this point, even Schrodinger would be confused as to what is real and what is not!
It’s all such nonsense. At least we are having fun…and making paper money along the way, before it eventually becomes worthless.
As I said multiple times, this “Bull vs Bear” debate is silly and ambiguous. The only certainty is that we live in the Golden Age of Grift aka GAG™️. We therefore have to position accordingly.
While others are worried about “Bull vs Bear” and “TACO vs BURRITO”, we are chilling in the BBBB-Barbell Portfolio™️ with “GAG” & Cash. After all, our Summer Motto is:
