Contra-vaganza and "Meme" Tops!

One of my favourite activities when it comes to Markets is trying to identify the change in trend of an asset class based on events that may be under-appreciated by consensus but that define the current Zeitgeist. Such events could be anything: it could be the new Economist or Barron’s Cover, it could be a major “Contra” Strategist commenting on the markets, it could be a technical event.

The last couple of weeks I have spotted quite a few of these events, that may mark what I refer to as “Meme Tops”: “Meme Tops” are not quite “THE Tops”, but rather short-term Tops marked by these “meme” moments in time:
